I’m almost a regular at Hampton Games Club. It’s not the biggest games club in the world but it does have a dedicated following in the Bayside area of Melbourne.
Apart from membership fees, there is little or no money raised to support or grow the club.
One of the regulars had this brilliant idea for fundraising for Hampton Games Club.
It took some time but we’re up. If you order from Grill’d Southland during January put a bottle cap in our jar.
The local Grill’d at Southland shopping centre does fundraising for local clubs and causes by bottle cap donation when a purchase is made. The money generated is then passed onto the club after the month’s (I would imagine) exercise is over.
Okay, this is a pretty geographically specific fundraiser. If you’re down this way, Grill’d is pretty awesome nosh and you should totally donate bottle caps to us!!
It got me to thinking though. How do clubs raise funds? Do members pay membership fees that account not just for venue hire but also things like new tables and scenery? Is there a terrain and table donation that members do? Could you go to Kickstarter or Indiegogo and start looking at crowd funding the club?
